Psychiatric Residential

Treatment Facility (PRTF)

- PASSAGES
- LIGHTHOUSE
Brynn Marr Hospital offers two specialized residential treatment programs:
Passages is a secured Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility located in Brynn Marr Hospital. Passages offers a specialized gender specific program designed for girls ages 12 through 17 who are exhibiting problematic behaviors associated with a psychiatric diagnosis.
Lighthouse is a secured Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility located in Brynn Marr Hospital. Lighthouse offers a specialized program providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents with mental retardation (or other developmental disabilities) and co-occurring mental illness (DDMI). Lighthouse treats both boys and girls ages 10 through 17.
Both Passages and Lighthouse believe in a Family Systems approach that views the child’s behavior as a part of a larger family context. This approach helps to build a collaborative team with the family and avoids pejorative labels. Therapeutic trial visits with family increase as discharge approaches, and parental/guardian involvement is expected throughout the child’s admission to the program.
