Program Description
Lighthouse is a secured Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility located in Brynn Marr Hospital. This specialized program provides therapeutic services to children and adolescents with mental retardation (or other developmental disabilities) and co-occurring mental illness (DDMI). Lighthouse treats both boys and girls ages 10 though 17. Our residents’ unique developmental needs are addressed by placing emphasis on increased socialization, communication, social relationship building, and appropriate self-expression skills utilizing a strength-based approach.
Program Components
At Lighthouse, we use a structured milieu to assist and provide support to our residents in achieving their determined treatment goals. We have realized success with our DDMI residents through programming that offers a strength-based approach along with frequent and/or immediate reinforcement. Our staff has been specially trained to facilitate the following unique programs, along with specialized training in working with the DDMI population.
