Current Opportunities

Registered Nurse

Provides nursing care through physical and mental assessments, treatment plans and therapeutic treatments. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral. Performs crisis intervention. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Requirements
Strong verbal, written, organizational, supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Development and implementation of patient care services. Ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process and provide safe nursing care.

Education
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing

Licensure/Certification
Current NC State Registered Nurse License

Experience
One year psychiatric/neuro-psychaitric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a hospital or residential setting preferred.

Director of Business Development

Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.

Develops and implements comprehensive marketing plans and programs for the facility’s long and short term goals. Researches and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities. Represents the facility with business leaders, physicians, the community and the media. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements
Must have bachelor's degree in marketing and 4+ years experience in healthcare and /or medical industry.

Mental Health Worker

Brynn Marr Hospital has a limited number of openings for full-time and PRN Mental Health Workers. Work schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am to include every other weekend. As a Mental Health Worker you will:
 
     • Provide direct care for and observation of patients with acute mental illness, 
        behavioral disorders, and/or post-traumatic stress disorders.
     • Provide treatment through individual interaction and group activities to help
        patients learn socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors.
     • Ensure patient safety and perform crisis intervention as needed. 
     • Serve as a role model for adults and adolescent males/females. 

APPLICANTS MUST MEET AT LEAST ONE OF THESE THREE REQUIREMENTS:

     • 2 or 4 year degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services or
        at least 2 years of current studies towards degree OR,
     • Certified Nursing Assistant I or II and listed on the N.C. Department of Health
        and Human Services' Health Care Personnel Registry, OR
     • Minimum of one year experience dealing with adults, adolescents and/or
        young adults in a psychiatric hospital or mental/behavioral health residential
        setting

Licensed Practical Nurse

Work schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, 7am-7pm to include every other weekend. As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will:

     • Provide direct and indirect psychosocial, physical and general client care.
     • Meet the communication needs of clients and families. 
     • Provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional
        expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. 
     • Perform crisis intervention. 
     • Demonstrate knowledge of medications including psychotropic drugs and their
        correct administration based on the client's age and clinical condition.
     • Follow the five medication rights and reduce the potential for medication
        errors.
     • Formulate and implement client treatment plans; including family when
        appropriate.
     • Demonstrate ability to revise the treatment plan as indicated by the client's
        response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
     • Continuously observe client's behavior, mental status and activities.
     • Demonstrate ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of
        licensure.
     • Perform all aspects of client care in an environment that optimizes client
        safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
     • Communicate appropriately and clearly to program director, co-workers and
        physicians.
     • Participate in the unit's performance improvement and continuous quality
        improvement (CQI) activities.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:  

     • Current LPN/LVN licensure in State of North Carolina.
     • Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders: cognitive, emotional,
        developmental, social and behavioral.
     • Minimum of six months to one year's experience in a behavioral health setting.
 
Salary range is $14-$17/hour depending on experience and education, with competitive benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.

Dietary Technician/Cook

The work schedule for this position is on-call Mon-Sun 6am-2:30pm OR 11:30am-8pm weekdays and weekends as needed. Pay is $7.25 to $8/hr depending on experience. As a Dietary Technician you will:

     • Perform a variety of food services including cooking and serving
        food to clients, employees and visitors.
     • Be responsible for clean-up and stocking of the cafeteria and food preparation
        areas.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: 

     • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
     • Have a minimum of three months experience cooking, preparing and serving
        food, preferably in a cafeteria setting.
     • Have good customer service skills.
     • Be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds.

Social Work Therapist

Full-time position, 40 hours per week to include weekends. Provide mental health counseling and therapy services for acute adult, adolescent and child patients with concentration on stabilizing patients in crisis.

     • Be organized with strong attention to detail
     • Be able to balance therapeutic needs with strong case management
        requirements
     • Have excellent communications skills

     • Must be a LCSW, LPC, or license-eligible

Salary negotiable with full benefits package.

Intake Worker

Part-time position, 20-25 hours a week, Sat-Sun 7am to 7pm and fill-in during week as needed, on-call rotation. Salary $8.50 - $10 per hour.

As an Intake Worker you will:

     • Be responsible for intake process for admission of residential patients
        to hospital.
     • Initiate and complete admissions process and packets. 
     • Input data. 
     • Communicate admission criteria to health care providers and referring
        agencies.
     • Verify insurance benefits. 
     • Pre-certify initial intake information if necessary. 
     • Communicate with family members about admission process, visitation,
        inventory, and paperwork requirements.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: 

     • High School graduate (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
     • Basic psychiatric knowledge, and understanding of HIPAA/confidentiality
        of information
     • Exceptional clerical, communications, organizational, computer software
        and customer service skills. 
     • Must be able to multi-task, work with limited supervision, and work well
        under pressure handling complex tasks in difficult situations with tact,
        utilizing critical thinking skills.
