Psychiatric Services

Program Description

Young people may encounter such stressful situations that they respond with behaviors that are harmful to themselves or to others. At Brynn Marr Hospital our program provides children and adolescents with the opportunity to learn more effective coping skills to deal with life’s experiences. Our inpatient services offer acute short-term structured treatment with close family involvement and community supports. The crisis stabilization period focuses on person-centered planning. Brynn Marr Hospital offers inpatient programs for youth which met the needs of children and adolescents who suffer from severe emotional problems, mental illness, substance abuse issues and developmental disabilities.

Roles of Our Professionals
Clients of Brynn Marr Hospital are a part of a highly structured, safe environment with treatment guided by a team of psychiatrists. We offer around the clock Registered Nursing care to ensure safe stabilization as part of our interdisciplinary team of professionals. This team includes:

-----Psychiatrist—who provides evaluations, maintains medication regimens and coordinates the client’s care with the entire treatment team.

-----Registered Nurses—who provide 24 hour care, on-going nursing assessments and therapeutic interventions.

-----Therapists—who facilitate group therapy sessions, one-on-one counseling, and family therapy when appropriate. Additionally, the therapists work from the date of admission through discharge to develop an aftercare plan. This ensures a successful transition to a lesser level of care upon discharge.

-----Case Manager—who monitors the overall care planning throughout the client’s treatment in order to ensure they receive maximum benefit from the services provided. This role also includes coordination with community support professionals for continuity of care.

-----Client Care Technicians—who aid in assisting the client with their daily living skills while in the program.
